Furniture and Equipment Donated to Local Non-Profit Groups

Sefton 4 Good, working with partners at Sefton Council, recently offered a wide range of furniture to local voluntary, community and faith (VCF) sector organisations across Sefton.

Sefton CVS were contacted by the Building Manager at Merton House – a 9-floor office block based on Stanley Road in Bootle – who advised that a number of office suites were being vacated by Sefton MBC and there was a significant amount of furniture which could be offered free of charge to local non-profit organisations.

After receiving interest from 19 separate organisations, Sefton CVS liaised with Sefton MBC to arrange two separate visits to give groups the chance to view, reserve and/or collect items of furniture. These Merton House site visits were arranged for Wednesday 22nd August 2018 at 2pm (afternoon session) and Friday 24th August 2018 at 11am (morning session).

Common furniture items which were collected by a number of local non-profit groups included:

50+ Desks – varying sizes and styles
Freestanding filing cabinets (some lockable, with keys)
Shelving units (varying sizes)
Office Chairs
Drawers and hang-file units

It’s estimated that the value of the furniture and equipment collected by local organisations equated to approximately £5,500.00 – with premium items including luxury office chairs, large meeting room tables and lockable, heavy-duty filing cabinets.
