A team of 11 brave volunteers abseiled down the outside of the main entrance of Liverpool Cathedral and raised more than £1,000 for Sefton 4 Good.

Team members who took on the 150-foot free-fall drop in wet and windy conditions included representatives from the voluntary sector (Sefton CVS), the public sector (Sefton Council), the private sector (supply chain company GEODIS) and members of the public.

About Sefton 4 Good

Sefton 4 Good is a philanthropic asset based initiative from Sefton CVS. It encourages local people to come together and give their time, skills, money and resources to help local good causes. This can include:

Time – Volunteering to support activities in the local community.

Skills – Using your talents to help others. This could include a decorator painting a community room, an accountant offering financial advice to a local charity, or a marketing company helping a local good cause to raise awareness of its positive impact.

Resources – A business offering a product or activity to help a local community group. This could range from food for a pensioners lunch, to cement to create a smooth and safe path for disabled access.
