Sefton 4 Good would like to thank all indviduals, groups and businesses who supported the ‘Let’s Feed Sefton’s Schoolchildren’ initiative over the Summer Holidays.
Local voluntary, community and faith (VCF) sector groups worked in partnership to provide over 500 lunches to Sefton’s schoolchildren throughout the school holidays.
Throughout the duration of ‘Let’s Feed’ initiative, Sefton 4 Good received a variety of cash donations as well as food and supplies. Manor Lodge Foods (Southport) donated food with retail value of £1,000 over the course of the scheme and Tesco Express (Churchtown) donated approximately £400 worth of food via the FareShare FoodCloud. Wild Thang provided free printing of posters to support the scheme to a value of £80.
Using funds donated through the MyDonate page, Sefton 4 Good also purchased a fridge and freezer for storing donated food items. The freezer was donated to Waterloo Community Association as a South Sefton provider, and the fridge was donated to Brighter Living Partnership based at Southport Community Centre for storing chilled goods.
In addition to the food and equipment provided to support the CVS coordinated programme, donations and supplies were also supplied to other voluntary sector organisations who were providing summer holiday food and activities e.g. SING Plus Resource Centre in Seaforth.
