How to Help on Giving Tuesday and beyond

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to make a pledge that lasts all year. Commit to supporting your local community in meaningful ways—whether by giving your time, skills, donations, or voice, every effort makes a difference.

Here’s how you can bring your pledge to life:

Give Time:

Volunteer for an organisation or local group in Sefton. You could volunteer for one day or regularly. You could: befriend a lonely older person, help at a local rainbows group, take rescued dogs for a walk, take part in a bucket collection; head to Volunteer Centre Sefton’s website to search for the right role for you.

Give Money:

Help Sefton 4 Good, our charitable fund, raise money to support good causes in Sefton. You could be helping causes like: refugees in need of support, funding an older person’s exercise class or creative writing course at a women’s centre or the Mayor of Sefton’s Christmas toy appeal.

Text SEFTON followed by your donation amount to 70450 or head to our Just Giving page.

Give skills:

Use your professional skills to support a local charity by joining their board as a Trustee. Trustees’ are integral to the running of charities and there are many in Sefton looking for board members with a variety of skills such as law, social media and marketing, HR and finance. Read about them here.

Give goods:

Are you able to donate pink materials for our Sefton 4 Good craft team? The team use wool, cotton thread or cotton material to create beautiful pink hearts which can be sold to raise money for the charitable fund. Or if you’re feeling creative, why not join the team?

Give voice:

Support a campaign that you believe in. This could be promoting Giving Tuesday, Sefton 4 Good or a national campaign like raising the mileage allowance for volunteers.
