Over two consecutive days, we welcomed two teams of volunteers to join us at Bootle Library for a volunteering taster session.
Volunteers from Households into Work, WSP and Pershing got stuck in to revamping the libraries’ outside space. This included strimming the overgrown grass and weeds, mowing the lawn, repainting the fence, cleaning, sanding and repainting the window frames and clearing the guttering.
The teams were lucky with glorious weather on both days and worked hard to complete the tasks.
Lesley Davies from Bootle Library said:
The volunteers were amazing, and the work they completed, in such a small amount of time, has given Bootle Library staff such a boost. The library garden is really coming along and having your support has really made a big difference.
The library wishes to use the outside space for groups to enjoy.
