Material Matters is a new multi-agency initiative between Sefton CVS, Sefton MBC, Sefton 4 Good, South Sefton Foodbank, Southport Foodbank and the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority that aims to support the most vulnerable in our communities, whilst reducing textile waste and improving our environment.
Material Matters takes donations of winter coats, school uniforms, and bedding to encourage reusing and recycling while helping the most vulnerable in our community. Donations are distributed through the Food Banks, however where an appropriate coat or uniform is not available for whatever reason, the beneficiary will be issued with a voucher.
That’s where crowdfunding comes in – the money donated will be used to fund the voucher which can be redeemed in a local charity shop for a coat, or school uniform. So, if you choose to support with money donations, you will be helping the most vulnerable in Sefton while donating to a great local cause as well!
