Volunteering opportunity with Sefton Helping Hands

Sefton Helping Hands is a local charity that runs a number of projects that support older people, ranging from a furniture recycling initiative to a handyperson service.   They rely on volunteers to deliver these services to the community and would like to create a green space where volunteers can relax and unwind after a hard days work.

Sefton Helping Hands requires help to tidy-up  it’s small garden at the rear of its site situated on Homestead Avenue, Old Roan. This is a basic landscaping task and would be suitable for:

  • A small team of volunteers who have access to gardening tools (e.g. strimmer) and aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty!
  • Those who have a passion for garden makeovers.
  • SME’s that have a CSR programme looking to get their staff involved in the community

The task involves cutting back the grass and doing some basic remodelling of the area so that volunteers can sit outside and enjoy the surrounding.  This is a very small area situated next to a private residents garden. Some light weeding and some general beautifying would not go amiss!
